Official Website launched to help bring Madeleine home

Madeleine's parents have set up an official website to bring the child home. There is a downloadable poster which her parents are urging people to print out and display wherever they are, and there are essential phone numbers for those who may have any information, for the UK and abroad.

You can also leave the family your messages of support here.

Please go to the official website where you will find all the latest news on the search for little Maddie.

A female suspect has recently been connected with the disappearance. Read about it here.

"On Madeleine's birthday, please keep looking, please keep praying, please help bring Madeleine home."

This reminds me quite a bit of when Elizabeth Smart was abducted, years ago. She got a ton of publicity. She was much older, though.

It always makes me think, why do some missing children cases get more publicity than others? There are lots of missing people cases and yet some are never publicised nationaly. It definitley helps to publicise these cases.

Did Elizabeth Smart ever return?

In fact I have read quite a few books on this subject, written by or about the people who were abducted, who came out safely at the end.

One was the Belgian girl Sabine Dardenne who was kidnapped by Marc Dutroux. She was kept in the cellar for 80 days before the police finally found her. All the girls before her who had been abducted by Marc Dutroux had been murdered.

I also read a book written about the recent case of Natascha Kampusch in Austria who spent EIGHT YEARS in an underground prison in Wolfgang Priklopil's house before she then escaped last year.

The third one was about an American teenager who was hitch hiking and was abducted by a man, with the help of his wife. The girl was in a false sense of security because she saw there was a baby and wife in the car. And yet she was kept as a slave for years and years, she spent her life in a box under the bed, like a coffin. (I can't remember the names for this case, I read it too long ago)

It's horrifying, but at least the stories of these girls who have survived abduction give a little bit of hope.

it's always shocking to hear how far people will sink, and the terrible things they will do. no matter how much of it you hear, it's always terrible. what's the justification for this shit in people's heads?

I know what you mean...no matter how much we hear about these cases it always shocks us each time. A bit like shooting massacres, terrorism etc.

Have you ever read http://www.crimelibrary.com ? The things cited there are some of the most horrific acts these kind of sick people have committed. I was sent there for a school assignment on Mary Bell, and got browsing. It just goes to show, there are a LOT of sick bastards out there who have no hearts, nor consciouses.
