Creampuff

I’m rather taken with my new French-English dictionary of slang. I've spent a wonderful evening looking through it and sniggering to myself. A few of my favourites include…

Creampuff – dégonflé(e)

Sperm – camelote, purée, jus de cyclope (ha !)

Female privates – abricot, cicatrice, mimi

Testicles – balustrines, bonbons, olives

That’s a bit naff – c’est plutôt bidon

Scuzzbag – salaud

To stink – cocoter

To have a bun in the oven - avoir un polichinelle dans le tiroir

This dictionary is going to be very useful, I can tell.

=o) thanks!

Had a good laugh at - les prunes and les cacahuetes!! How very...descriptive!

It's funny, the rude words are always the ones I remember best.

ouh là!!

'repousser de la cornemuse'?!

Should I take it as an insult to the Scottish or does it literally mean 'to be rejected by a cornmuse'?

not an insult - i dont think that.
Cornemuse is a beautiful and strange word for french. Also uses in : "s'en jeter un dans la cornemuse" - "se rincer la cornemuse" - " se faire souffler dans la cornemuse"

Now, I have been through my dictionary and I can't for the life of me figure out what these phrases mean!

Are they french expressions? Do you have an english translation to help me?

Je souhaite que je pourrais jouer la cornmuse

"That’s a bit naff" ??

forgive my limited American English vocabulary, but what does "naff" mean?

Princesse Ecossaise said...

hmmm 'naff' I think would translate to something like 'garbage'. Nothing exciting.
